Founded in 1986, Chrismont Montessori Academy is a leader in educating students through the most innovative practices in Montessori education. Chrismont's instructors help students develop a true passion for learning and gain the intellectual, emotional and social skills to succeed in today's global community. Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of the whole child, cognitively, socially, emotionally and physically, while adhering to New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. Our methods enhance concentration, coordination, and independence. The Chrismont Montessori Academy Primary Program is based on concrete learning and our Elementary Program encourages more abstract thinking.
More specifically, our language development curriculum is multi-sensory and allows your child to progress at his or her own rate. Our Mathematics curriculum relies on concrete manipulative objects allowing your child to "grasp" mathematical concepts and operations. Our science curriculum fosters the scientific process by allowing students to investigate the world around them. Our Social Studies curriculum links the past to the present by introducing government and geography. We also offer once per week classes taught by enthusiastic teachers in the areas of Music, Art, French and Physical Education.
Through our superior teaching methods, Chrismont Montessori Academy students develop independence, a sense of order, and a true love of learning. They learn to care for the classroom environment and respect others at their school, and in their respective communities.
