Before care and after care coming soon! Please inquire.

Kindergarten is a continuation of our Primary program. Since children's verbal, reasoning and social skills develop at an individual pace, a multi-aged grouping provides opportunities for all the children to have positive interactions with other students. Therefore, our Kindergarten students become leaders and role models for the primary students. Our classroom provides a balance of structure and flexibility that allows for the natural development of each child's physical, emotional, and cognitive skills. Chrismont teachers focus on strengthening and reinforcing connections between the children's personal world and the global community in which they live. There is more focus on the written language, numbers systems, and conceptual understanding in the kindergarten to prepare students for their next educational journey. Over the course of the day, children are free to explore the classroom and complete work in each of the main areas: Mathematics, Practical Life, Language Arts, Sensorial, and Culture. The facilitator introduces inquiry-based learning activities that highlights the Montessori Method by teaching lessons one-on-one or to small groups of children. Teachers know that each child will learn at his or her own pace and so the child is encouraged to explore all areas of the classroom materials.
Chrismont Montessori Academy creates an educational environment in which students have genuine ownership of their three Primary learning years. Students complete the Kindergarten program with confidence, leadership qualities and strong public speaking skills.
